'59 Frogeye in Lincoln, NB
|
|
1959 Bugeye Sprite MK1, serial # AN5L109xx.
This car has been rebuilt for fun! Originally a California car, I purchased it in 2002 and
finished it to the current condition in September 2005. It has a rebuilt 1275
with 2,500 miles on the rebuild (Kent 266 mild road cam, bored 0.20 over and
balanced professionally – this is a great engine, but has the typical rear oil
leak so familiar to these engines), electronic ignition and Honda alternator,
electronic tachometer with new or fully functional original gauges, a 5-speed
Datsun tranny with competition clutch (snap-your-neck clutch), high speed rear
end for highway driving (4:11 gear set from the original car is included if
you’re into autocrossing), Minotar minilite wheels with T-Metric radial tires
(original steel wheels included), rear Panhard rod – no front sway bar, Mountney
leather steering wheel, all new burgundy carpet and vinyl interior (except for
floors), custom roll bar, new vinyl soft top in great condition, original
sliding side windows which have been cleaned up and fitted with new windows, and
new down-to-the metal paint job (color is Harley Davidson yellow with gold pearl
and two coats of clear). Car is located in northeast Lincoln, NE, and can be
seen and driven with appointment. I have had the best experience working on this
car, but am looking to move on to my next project and need the garage space to
do so. I have well over $10K into this car, but am asking $8,000, and might
consider other reasonable offers (trade for ??? Mini, Jag, Woody Morris
Traveler?). I can be contacted at home evenings and weekends at (402) 466-3968.
