THE EXTERIOR ORIGINAL COLOR IS ICE BLUE (MEDIUM BLUE GRAY) NOTED

THE INTERIOR, STILL THE ORIGINAL, IS BLUE WITH LIGHT BLUE
PIPING.

THE HUB CAPS ON THE MIDGET ARE THE OPTIONAL ACE MERCURY FULL
WHEEL COVERS. VERY RARE NOW-A-DAYS.

BODY WORK – REPLACED THE ROCKER PANELS AND BOTH “A” POST SIDE
PANELS, MOSTLY RUSTY AND THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS DUE TO THE
ACCIDENT FROM DAY ONE.

PATCHED MISCELLANEOUS HOLES IN THE FLOOR DUE TO AGE AND POSSIBLE
WATER LEAKS. DID NOT CUT OUT THE FLOOR AND REPLACE. THE
EXISTING CONDITION DID NOT REQUIRE THAT.

PAINTED THE MIDGET THE ORIGINAL COLOR, ICE BLUE

THE CHROME IS STILL THE ORIGINAL CHROME, EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT
BUMPER, THE ORIGINAL FRONT BUMPER WAS BENT A LITTLE, SO I PULLED
ANOTHER OFF ONE OF THE OTHER 1962 SPRITES THAT I HAVE AND USED
IT.

I ALSO CHANGED THE WINDSHIELD, TEMPORARY CHANGE, I BROKE THE
ORIGINAL WINDSHIELD. MY STUPIDITY! I HAVE SINCE ORDERED A NEW
ONE FROM ENGLAND AND WILL PUT IT IN THE ORIGINAL FRAME AND BACK
ON THE MIDGET.

THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL, EXCEPT FOR THE CARPET. SINCE THE
ORIGINAL CARPET AND RUBBER MATTS WERE TOTALLY SHOT, I BOUGHT
SOME DARK BLUE CARPET OFF EBAY. LOOKS OK.

THE TOP IS THE ONE THAT CAME WITH THE MIDGET. I AM ASSUMING IT
IS NOT THE ORIGINALLY, BUT PURCHASED AT A LATER DATE. I ALSO
RECOVERED THE PADDED PIECE ABOVE THE DASH SINCE THE ORIGINAL WAS
CRACKED OUT DUE TO THE SUN.

THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION IS ORIGINALLY. THE SPEEDO NOW SAYS
46,000 MILES AND JUDGING FROM THE WAY SHE RUNS, HAS TO BE PRETTY
CLOSE. HOLDS GOOD OIL PRESSURE, NO FUNNY NOISES AND DOES NOT
OVERHEAT. COMPRESSION IS GREAT IN ALL 4 CYLINDERS. I JUST
CHANGED THE DRYED OUT GASKETS AND SEALS FOR FRESH GASKET AND
SEALS. I ALSO REBUILT THE CARBS.

I ALSO PAINTED THE ENGINE, IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE THE DARK GREEN,
BUT DUE TO “POOR” QUALITY CONTROL AT THE PAINT COMPANY THAT
SUPPLIES THE ENGINE PAINT, I DID GET THE CORRECT CAN OF PAINT,
WITH THE CORRECT PAINT NUMBER ON THE CAN, BUT THE WRONG COLOR
INSIDE THE CAN. THIS COLOR IS ABOUT A SHADE OR TWO OFF FROM THE
CORRECT COLOR.

I DID REBUILD THE SUSPENSION, LOWER “A” ARMS AND FRONT SHOCKS.
THE REAR SHOCKS ARE STILL GOOD. THE FRONT SHOCKS WERE WORE OUT
AND ONE LOWER “A” ARM WAS CRACKED. THE FRONT SUSPENSION ALSO
GOT ALL NEW BUSHINGS, KINGPINS, ETC.

THE BRAKES AND HYDRAULICS HAVE BEEN REBUILT, INCLUDING THE
MASTER CYLINDER. (WHITEPOST) I HAD TO REPLACE 2 BRAKE LINES,
ONE WAS BROKE AND THE OTHER HAD A LEAK.

THE MIDGET STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL WIRING, EXCEPT FOR THE HORN
WIRING AND I HAD TO MODIFY PART OF THAT AND INSTALL A NEW HORN
FOR THAT TO WORK. THE ONLY THING NOT WORKING AT PRESENT OR MAY
JUST BE STUCK IS THE FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT. AS SOON AS I RUN
OUT OF GAS, I WILL DROP THE TANK AND CHANGE IT OUT.
