Here are some Pictures...
It is made from a 3/4" solid piece of Walnut with all VDO white face gauges...
(When I when back to get some walnut for the doors, I could not get any that
matched as well as
the Rosewood, which is very expensive.)
I even did the firewall...
I did the doors later and used the rosewood.
One thing you have to remember is that all of the controls are made for
a 1/8" or less metal dash so I had to countersink the back for the switches
very, very carefully...
The dash actual sits back under more that the original
dash. I had a Speedo shop cut my Speedo cable to about 2 feet and add a GM
connector. The connect for the sensor is under the hood up from the grease and
oil.
The gas tank sending
unit hade to be cut way down to fit...
I made it work correctly on empty and it is off on full but what the hell.
I think if I could get a 7 1/2 depth tank from
an older Midget it would work better. The Speedo is very easy to calibrate...
It has a test
mode and drive 1 mile.

Mike's Bugi
The windup crank was when gas was so high.
It was fun to watch people as you
drove down the road and at stoplights...
